When we could knock on each other’s doors unannounced

Since I’ve left college, I’ve been thinking about the proposition of when it’s appropriate to stop by unannounced to people you know and people you do not know that well. The epiphany came recently–now that I own a house. There has been a hole in my life since leaving college. I’m happily married, but I miss having 20+ guys on a hall that I could talk to at any time.
It’s been a while since I have posted here on Llama and Lamb. One of the reason is because I have become active on Twitter (@smjdesign). Yes, that thing everybody is talking about. Speaking of Twitter, earlier this week I tweeted:
Can’t we go back to when we could knock on each others’ doors at any time, ask if they can come out and play. Are people really that busy?!
