Fourth of July six-day weekend

Rachel and I went on a canoe trip on the Wisconsin River and traveled to Chicago to the art museum. The canoe trip was about 8 miles and was a day long trip.

After walking around the Art Institute of Chicago for four hours, we sampled some of the “Taste of Chicago” vendors just south of the museum in Grant Park.

Highlights of our extended weekend:

  • Hearing “I wonder how some of this stuff got in here” at the Art Institute of Chicago
  • Watching other people suddenly take an interest in lesser known paintings because I had just photographed it.
  • Walking back to Union Station with only 10 minutes to spare
  • Eating goat for the first time (it’s a lot like lamb)
