Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have been derelict in my personal blog writing. I just have not had much to say recently. In the American culture to varying degrees, we see the autonomous unit as the married couple in a house. As you have discovered, it is often rude to trespass on and interrupt this "sacred" structure.

Interesting. I'm from India, a place where, our tradition tells us to respect guests. When in college, I had a few close friends who used to visit my house. Almost daily. And never announced! It was the same with neighbors and relatives too. Considering the frequency of visits, announcing them seemed unnecessary and tedious. The only pre-visit phone calls were to ensure that the house is not locked, in case the visitor lives far away.

Ten years after, I'm sorry to see that it's no longer so here. No one has time for hours of conversations, lunches and dinners anymore. Guests who knock unannounced are unwelcomely endured.

I feel the need for interaction is still there. That's why everyone is on the Facebooks and the Twitters. We love to visit and be visited, but only at our own schedule, and at the effort of mouse clicks. We'd rather spend half an hour reading someone's tweets, rather than have that person at our home for a half an hour visit.

I see this is an old blog post, and I wonder if you even check the comments. But this topic compelled me to write. :)

Cheers!

Thanks for sharing such great post, according to me budgeting doesn't mean that you have to compromise your needs but it is important for planning financial life. Household Budgeting means to create a planning for the money spending. Build emergency fund, minimize the use of credit card, planning, etc. are the tips for making personal household budgeting.

I'm not sure yet whether I'll stay at Written Bliss or go on back to Pencils From Heaven. Any thoughts?

I'm with the Greeks on the Coke, but I don't even want to contemplate what they do with the TP if they don't flush it.

I've only traveled around the western part of the US. I look forward to travel in my future, after my kids are grown, and I definitely want to see Greece.

Nope, still at the ad agency. We thought the whole cover letter was pretty suggestive. She is a political science major and was not applying for any particular job.

You're welcome. It's the Math Comment Spam Protection plug-in for WordPress. I like it, too.
