Stephen’s Book Reading list
Rachel and I frequent our local public library for books, audio books, and the occasional movie. It’s not that irregular for me to take a box with me to our library branch. The decline of reading books (and other long formats) will not have a corollary effect on knowledge, but will affect on concentration and critical thinking. I also read or listen to a variety of magazines, podcasts, and lectures. Below are the ten most recent books I have either read or am currently reading.
- This Time is Different: Eight Centuries of Financial Folly
- Africa's World War: Congo, the Rwandan Genocide, and the Making of a Continental Catastrophe
- Portfolios of the Poor: How the World's Poor Live on $2 a Day
- In Other Rooms, Other Wonders
- American Original: The Life and Constitution of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia
- The Oss And Ho Chi Minh: Unexpected Allies in the War Against Japan (Modern War Studies)
- Range of the Possible: Conversations With Contemporary Poets
- Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide
- The Tyranny of Dead Ideas: Letting Go of the Old Ways of Thinking to Unleash a New Prosperity
- The Quiet American (Penguin Classics Deluxe Edition)
