Interested in information about January 6th?

First, a note about that big graphic for the gift registry page. I originally planned on making this section indiscriminate, but after a few people, visited this blog and then asked if we were registered anywhere, I decided I needed to make how to get to this page more obvious.

Rachel and Stephen plan on decorating their apartment (and future home) in an eclectic style with influences of modern (large unframed Rothko paintings, IKEA, and minamalism), world (patterned dark woods, Pier1 Imports, Indian and Middle-Eastern patterns), and vine and leaf iron scrolling (Fleur-De-Lis, Hobby Lobby, outdoor/garden furniture).

Rachel and Stephen have registered at the following stores:

Rachel’s Party Info

Casey Corbit (Maid of honor)

Five years ago Casey and I met while we played soccer together and spent late nights working on art projects on the campus of Asbury College. Casey and I roomed together the next year, her senior year, at Asbury college. We kept each other company during all night work sessions with clay and marble in the art annex. We spent quality time on trips and through discussing deep thoughts with each other. Casey has great talent in art. She paints, plays the guitar, and writes her own songs. The art side of her is balanced by soccer and intelligence in math and science. Casey is now in her second year of medical school at UK in Lexington KY.

Sarah Wilson

I met Sarah during Freshman orientation when all the art majors gathered in a room to meet with the professors. We ended up being in the same drawing class. Over the next three years we developed a friendship that was strengthened her senior year at Asbury. Sarah and I kept each other’s company on art trips to D.C. and NY. Sarah enjoys to paint with oils and work with natural subject matter. Sarah is currently married and residing in Ohio.

Emily Chappel

Emily and I met during our first semester at college. We both grew up in northern Illinois and grew up attending evangelical free churches. We became friends and travel buddies. Often times we accompanied each other home during school breaks. Emily’s room became a sunday night location to watch Alias in. We spent one semester on the same hall. Emily was a friend in college who was there all four years. I appreciate her a lot.

Kathryn Steely

Katie is my wonderful red-headed sister whom I have known all of her life. She is in eighth grade at Rockford Christian school. She enjoys playing volleyball, acting, and hanging out with her friends. When I am around she lets me play with, braid, and experiment with her thick beautiful auburn red hair. I love my sister and before she was born, I had always wanted and prayed for a sister.

Stephen’s Party Info

Ryan Ballard (Best Man)

When my first college roommate left me for the other dorm, Ryan moved into 206 Main with me. The nights of discussing God and girls over Jewel and Over The Rhine are dear to me, and I’ll never forget coming back from Men’s Retreat singing along with Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill with the windows down. He was the closest friend I had during college, and is the person my own age that I most look up to and respect. Ryan is currently pursueing a Masters of Counselling and a Masters of Theology at Asbury Theological Seminary.

Joel Claes

Joel lived down the hall on Trustees Second Main (T2M) with me at Asbury College. We practically lived together on our 2004 Athens Olympics internship with the CBC. We worked the same shift as shotlisters (tennis anyone?), toured Athens together (it’s all Greek to me), and rounded out our month long stay in Greece with a trip to Olympia (I think the hotel was on top of Mount Olympus!). Joel currently works in Terre Haute, IN at a network news station.

Ian Canada

Ian is also a PK (preacher’s kid) that I met the summer after eigth grade when he moved near the bustling metropolis of Burkesville, KY. We were both active in the Emmaus/Chrysalis Community in the Lake Cumberland Area. I attended NewSong and Ichthus together with my fellow Panhead. Sometimes I miss the sweaty, front-row mosh pit. Ian and I played the RPG card-game Redemption for hours in high school. And did I mention that he is 6′11″ and doesn’t play basketball? Oh wait–he does now! He is currently attending Asbury College, and is my longest continually held friendship.

Rehearsal dinner

The rehearsal dinner will be at 8:00pm at the Castleton Buca di Beppo. Buca di Beppo is a family style (meaning one big dish for everyone) Italian restaurant. Here are the directions there from the church.

As of right now, we are having:
Margherita Pizza
Mixed Green Salad
Spaghetti Meat Balls
Fresh Salmon with Pesto
Raspberry Cheesecake

The reason we picked Buca di Beppo is because there is a giant picture of a bride kicking a soccer ball on the wall of one of the rooms. jk.
